Pure potassium polysulphide - 1 kg - Patina for copper, bronze and brass

Water-soluble substance. Covers objects made of copper, bronze and brass alloys with a bronze patina.

A darker patina colour can be obtained by applying several coats or by increasing the solution's concentration of the solution.

Example of use:

Dissolve potassium polysulphide in hot water ( preferably boiled or distilled water) to obtain a solution of 10% to 30%.

Method of use: spread the hot solution with a brush on the surface of the object or immerse the entire object in the solution. The final effect is only visible after complete drying (several hours). It is very important that each applied layer dries thoroughly before application of the next layer.  

NOTE ! The surface must be free of grease and oxide layers before applying the patina ! The surface can be degreased using acetone or a special harmless degreaser from our range. Oxides, on the other hand, can be removed using Argentum liquid or Cuprum emulsion.

The photo shows the effect of using a 15 % potassium polysulphide solution in demineralised water on brass. Solution temperature 60 deg. C, immersion time 5 seconds.
